Are you a UK resident with
experience of living with a skin condition
or caring for someone who has one? Would
you be prepared to act as a media spokesperson?
Case studies or ‘real life experiences’
are often used to illustrate a point in
a news story or article. They help people
who have no experience of a situation to
understand it better.
Media spokespeople for the SCC tend to
be people who want to help others by sharing
their knowledge and experiences, perhaps
because they have been helped themselves
or because they want to raise awareness
of a specific issue among a wider audience
through the media.
If you decide you might be interested in
being a spokesperson, please do send us
your details. You should be aware, that
our first and foremost priority is to look
after the people involved and the aim is
for us to work with you if an opportunity
arises. We will never put forward a story
that you are not happy about.
When someone agrees to help with media
activity, we first take a short summary
of his or her story. Journalists usually
ask that people are identified and pictures
may be needed, so we ask at the very beginning
if this would be okay. If we do find a journalist
that is interested in your story we will
come back to you first and explain how they
plan to use it before checking again that
you are happy to be involved. We will never
give out details without your full consent.
If you would like to know more, please
fill out the form below and send it to us
and we will contact you to discuss this
in more detail. There is no obligation to
go further once we have spoken if you are
not entirely happy to be involved. Please
complete all the questions below and press
‘submit’ at the end of the form
or print it off and forward to Ash Communications
